Whitecap operate within the yachting industry in a variety of areas from new build, refit, skippering and campaign management on the racing side through to yacht management for private owners. They pride themselves on the delivery of high profile multi-million pound projects whilst offering managerial, technical and professional expertise to privately campaigned yachts and sponsored sailing campaigns. Whilst Whitecap are experts in providing impressive sponsor returns from branded yacht racing campaigns, they lack creative design capabilities in-house. This is where we come in.
What we needed to do
We were briefed to create an impactful brochure that can be printed and also converted into an interactive digital brochure that can be sent out via email or uploaded to websites. The brochure needed to engage and excite potential brand managers / owners into giving serious consideration for sponsoring the UK’s entrant of the 2020 Vendee Globe, which will be fully supported and managed by Whitecaps team. No Briton has won a single-handed around the world race since the British sailing legend, Sir Robin Knox-Johnson, in 1969. Whitecaps vision is simple; to achieve a British winner of the Vendée Globe Race in 2020. The sport of solo ocean racing has been dominated by the French so this project plans to reverse the trend. The brochure was designed in a way that could ignite patriotic passion. We combined powerful images of historic and recent sailing achievements along with impactful messages that help persuade prospective sponsors to consider using Whitecaps involvement in the Vendée Globe 2020 race as a platform for unrivalled brand exposure. Our bold and dynamic art direction was then transferred onto a powerful promotional video.
